What Hitch is and why we built it

Hitch is rideshare for longer distances. Here is the problem we set out to solve and how the service works.

Hitch

Getting between cities in the U.S. is harder than it should be. Driving means hours behind the wheel plus the cost of gas, tolls, and parking. Buses are slow and run on their own schedule. Flying rarely makes sense for a few hundred miles. Hitch exists to fill that gap.

Hitch is rideshare for longer distances. You book a seat between two cities, we match you with a driver already making the trip, and you ride door to door. Shared rides start around $20 a seat, and you can book a private car when you want the whole vehicle. Every driver passes a background check, and you see the price before you book. That is the whole idea: an easy, affordable way to travel between cities, every day.
